I must be crazy!
Now Playing: NBA exhibition game: Suns/Kinds
Topic: Workouts
I must definitely be crazy, plus I am absolutely exhausted!

1500 freestyle time: 27:37
10 x 200 freestyle (3:35-3:46)
500 kick (alt 100 fly/100 breast, last 100 freestyle)
1500 freestyle
500 kick (freestyle)
Total: 6000 yards

Yikes! Well partly it was to make up for missing Wednesday and Thursday. Needless to say I will be sleeping very well tonight. I definitely need to swim more 1500s though before the meet next month. I've done it twice for a time in practice and I always get tired during the last 5 laps.

Now time for me to make some hot chocolate and relax in front of the TV to watch the rest of the game.

Yesterday's workout
Now Playing: "Growing Up" - Peter Gabriel
Topic: Workouts
Thursday 10/21

800 free
16 x 75 I.M. order
12 x 100 freestyle
300 swim
500 kick

This makes the first time since I started swimming that I've swam four days in a row. I barely made it through yesterday and slept for ten hours last night. Even with all that sleep, I'm still tired and want to sleep so I've decided to not swim today. I know my goal for the week was to swim five days this week, so I'll do my fifth swim tomorrow. I think I'll be going to bed early tonight again like I did last night.

Wow I actually swam today haha
Topic: Thoughts About My Workout
When I first woke up this morning, I wasn't planning on swimming because I actually felt a bit ill. Stuffy nose as usual (I'm constantly taking over the counter medicine for my sinuses), felt a bit of a chest cold, plus I had a bit if diarrhea and no appetite... yeah, I know you all wanted to know that!!!

But by lunch time I decided to make myself go, but I edited my workout a bit since I'd hardly eaten anything. I did my 200 sprints, but held off on the 8 100's, instead just doing a slow 300 because I didn't feel like I had the strength for any more sprints regardless of length or stroke. I was planning to do 8 100's IM order after the 200 sprints but my strength was just gone, I'm sure due to my lack of food. Besides that, my 200 times were a lot faster than usual. I've been averaging 3:45 and today my slowest time was 3:35 for my last four 200s. My fastest 200 time was 3:12 so I am quite proud of myself for that! It's always nice to see some improvement!!

I'm really glad I decided to go. I ran into Kent again though as I was leaving. I met him last Friday after I finished swimming when we were sitting in the jacuzzi. He seems like he is interested in me and I am really not attracted to him physically. He's a bit overweight (but not too horrible) and I don't like guys who are overweight. I know it sounds really shallow! He asked me if I would be at the rec center tomorrow and I said I'd be there around 1pm. Now he's going to go tomorrow expecting me to be there. Why is it that I always find these overweight men interested in me? They probably like me because I am thinner than they are hahaha.

Waking Up Early Tomorrow Morning
Now Playing: "Growing Up" - Peter Gabriel
Topic: Swimming Thoughts
I am going to attempt waking up at 5:15am tomorrow morning and go swimming. I won't actually start swimming until 6:30ish since the first bus down to the pool leaves at 6:00am. I want to get used to doing morning workings because in a few months I want to start doing twice a day workouts. I am truly insane ... LOL

I am so tired ...
Topic: Thoughts About My Workout
Another workout where I didn't think I was going to finish it. After my third 200 backstroke I was sure I wouldn't get past five of them but somehow I managed to finish all ten of them. I was so amazed that I was able to finish it! I was so tired too and still am.

I feel more physically tired than sleepy and have been yawning an awful lot during the last hour or so. I don't know how long it will take for me to get used to these hard workouts. It's weird because I don't remember being this exhausted when I'd start on a new swim team when I was younger. Maybe it's just me getting older, I don't know. At the same time, I also wasn't swimming 4000 yard workouts in high school and college except for the one year on my high school swim team.

I'm not sure what sort of workouts I swam when I swam for Scottsdale Aquatics Club in Scottsdale in fifth and sixth grade. I just remember that I could never keep up with everyone else and that I wasn't swimming every day at that time. Now I wonder how I would have done if I had gone to practice every day back then, but at the time I hated it because everyone was so much faster than me. It's hard to say. Well now is my chance to find out even though I'm 15 years older than I was then.

Wow, I can't believe it was nearly 15 years ago when I quit that swim team. I don't even remember what our mascot was. It's almost half my lifetime ago.

Now Playing: zzzzzzz
Topic: Workouts
I.
Am.
So.
Tired.

Tuesday 12-Oct-2004

800 free
12 x 75 I.M. order
300 swim
200 kick
10 x 100 free
200 swim
300 kick

I tried taking a name and I'm still tired. I still have to stay awake for choir practice at church which starts in 45 minutes. The only item of significance in my workout today is that I swam all my 100s in two minutes including rest times, which is pretty good considering that most of my actual swim times were 1:48 - 1:55.

Upcoming Swim Meet on December 5th
Now Playing: Everwood
Topic: Upcoming Swim Meets
I'm considering entering the DAC Short Course Meters Championships at the Denver Athletic Club. Proposed events are the 1500 free, 200 free, 100 free, and 200 back. If they had the 200 I.M. I would enter that too. They only have the 400 I.M., which I've never done so I am not sure if I want to try it. The deadline is November 24th so I've got plenty of time to decide on it.
