Tomorrow it'll be two weeks since I've last been in the pool and between my week-long vacation to Calgary and Christmas-type activities since then, it's been pretty impossible. Tomorrow will be my first day back in the pool and I can tell I've gained a few pounds too with all the junk food and desserts I've been eating during the last two weeks. When I go tomorrow I plan on becoming officially registered with the swim team (I've just been going on a trial basis so far) and ask if the team is registered with COMSA, the USMS's local governing organization for the state of Colorado. You don't need to be registered with COMSA to be conducting organized workouts, but if you want to represent the group in swim meets, that's when the group has to be registered. I've got a feeling that I'm going to end up being the official team representative since I'm the one volunteering to register the group, and if anyone else on the team is going to swim meets like I am, I also get to be the team manager. :-) I'll just have to make sure I show up a bit early tomorrow morning before we start swimming to make sure I've got a chance to chat with the coach.

Topic: Meet Results
My first time in a 25M pool :-)

1500M FR- 31:28.16
100M FR - 1:41.98
200 BK - 3:47.52
200M FR - 3:46.14

I don't feel too great about my results since they are no improvement from October. I'm sure it's from me not being able to swim for three days from screwing up my back with snow shoveling, since I wasn't able to do anything for Wednesday through Friday after the snowstorm due to shoveling off the damn sidewalks. Lucky me, I am the only one who can shovel off the sidewalks, driveway, and parking lot because it seems like everyone else who lives here is over 60 years old.

Mood:  suave
Now Playing: "up" - Peter Gabriel
Topic: really sore
Yeah I am STILL sore from snow shovelling on Sunday but now it's my shoulders rather than my back. Maybe I will take another day off, we'll see tomorrow. I didn't want to take any days off today since I've got a swim meet coming up on 5 December but we'll see.

Topic: Swimming Thoughts
I'm so proud of myself today. I woke up at 4am this morning and I'm still awake, plus I went swimming first thing this morning. I'm getting stronger with my butterfly, since I swam the first 75 with no problem at all with my arms getting tired ... even though I was still really out of breath. On Saturday I swam my fastest 1500 ever in 27 minutes even.

Topic: Workouts
Saturday 11/20/04
1500 freestyle (27:00)
500 kick

A short workout for me, but my arms were feeling kind of tired and achy and I was feeling a bit sick to my stomach.

Monday 11/22/04
800 freestyle (15:34)
4 x 500 (9:11 - 9:32)
300 kick
8 x 75 I.M. order
100 swim
200 kick

The strangest part of today? The butterfly part of my I.M. set didn't make my arms as tired. In fact, I actually finished the first 75 much more easily than usual. Of course I still felt like I could hardly breathe, but my arms didn't get nearly as tired.
